Primary Prevention

Primary prevention is an essential component of the organizations service delivery system.  Events and activities are available for youth and adults of all ages.  Contact our prevention specialist for availability.

The Primary Prevention Program is also associated with the 14th Judicial Circuit’s Alcohol Enforcement Team (AET).  Coordinated by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, the goal is to reduce the sale and possession of alcohol and tobacco to those who are not old enough to buy or possess those products.

A central component of the organizations primary prevention effort is to advocate for community involvement in addressing and solving substance use disorders and their related consequences.  Colleton Keys – Keeping Every Youth Safe – is a community based coalition whose goal is to be a source for community education as well as a repository for community input.  Colleton Keys is managed by the prevention specialist; however, it is self governing.
