Merchant Education – Colleton County Commission on Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Palmetto Retailers Education Program (PREP) is a merchant education program designed to teach individuals who sell and serve alcohol how to do so in a responsible manner. This includes the prevention of underage sales, how to recognize an intoxicated patron, and how when it is necessary to intervene with intoxicated patrons.

PREP assists in improving the reputation of alcohol retailers through heightened standards of awareness and education in all employees who take the course.

Merchant Education at the Colleton Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse includes:

A PREP manual for each participant
A PREP certification card, lasting two years
The possibility of lower alcohol liability insurance rates
Proper knowledge about how to responsibly sell alcohol and tobacco products
